Girls Club

Weekly group mentoring for girls in Stark and Carroll Counties developing healthy peer and safe adult relationships.

What is Girls Club?

Girls Club is a weekly group mentoring program designed to support and empower young women in Stark and Carroll Counties. Through consistent connection, positive peer relationships, and trusted mentors, Girls Club provides a safe space where girls can be seen, heard, and valued. The program focuses on prevention, education, and personal growth, helping participants navigate real-life challenges while building confidence, resilience, and hope for their future.

Our Approach

Girls Club meets youth where they are by combining mentorship, prevention-based education, and life skill development. Groups are led by caring adults who create a supportive and structured environment focused on trust and consistency. Through guided conversations, activities, and mentorship, girls learn to recognize risks, make healthy decisions, and develop skills that align with the Search Institutes' 40 Developmental Assets. Our approach emphasizes relationship over program, believing connection is the foundation for lasting impact.

Benefits of Girls Club

Girls Club helps young women build healthy relationships, improve decision-making skills, and strengthen their sense of self-worth. Participants gain practical life skills, emotional support, and positive role models who walk alongside them. By addressing prevention and education early, Girls Club reduces the risk of exploitation, homelessness, and other negative outcomes, while increasing confidence, stability, and long-term success.

Why Choose Us?

Hannah’s House 119 believes every child is one decision away from becoming a statistic and that one caring adult can change everything (Josh Shipp). Girls Club offers more than mentorship; it provides consistency, safety, and hope. Our program is rooted in faith, prevention, and relationship-driven care, creating a place where young women are supported, empowered, and reminded that their story is not finished.

Here’s What Some of the Girls Had to Say About Hannah's House 119 and Girls Club

“Hannah’s House is interesting! We learn a lot, things we need to learn. I thought it would be like school.”

“You do a lot for us and you don’t even know us.”

"It’s an amazing program that really helps girls. The mentors actually care and it gives me something to do."

"Hannah's House is like my second home. It's a place I go every week to take a break and be me, not somebody else. I am free at Hannah's House."

"Coming to group is the best part of my week!"

These reflections highlight the heart of our prevention work—helping young women understand their worth, recognize unhealthy behaviors, and build confidence to make safer choices.
